In ninja gaiden 2 going for Scythe Master will using the sword for jumps stop achievement?

I just beat the bone boss and there is that jump that the only way i know how to get across is by jumping and then using the sword dash in midair to get over to the ledge. Is there a similar technique i can use with the eclipse scythe or as long as i dont hit anything it wont cancel the achievement???
