What should be done in this situation?

I'm 16 years old high schooler. I love drawing while my parents really wish I wouldn't take art as my career. I told them that I won't so then they won't worry and get frustrated. However as time goes by I realized that I just can't take interest in other subjects. I talked to my counselor and friends for advice of what to do... I don't want to go against my parents but i also don't know how to give up on art... Any suggestions?
