Friends doing annoying things?

I have found what a close friend of mine 2 be doing lately very strange. She keeps taking the time out 2 tell ppl that I have just had a baby. The strangest thing is its always men she tells and not women! Especially men who are single. Funny that! She has done it 2 one of my family members as well, when one of her male friends dared 2 ask about my family member all she could say quiet aggressively was 'u do know she has a baby'. That family member just laughs at her now. I just find it so immature [ there is so much more going on in the world] we are in are 20s now and she keeps doing it when men talk 2 me, which I find quiet rude and embarring. Thanks, but Im quite capable of telling these men that I have just had a baby, I actually find these men love talking 2 me about my baby and asking me how am i finding parenthood etc.. They don't just ignore me and in fact they become quiet respectful towards me as well! She doesn't do it when women talk 2 me. I know its jealousy, but doesn't she realize she is just making herself look like a bit of an idiot. What is she hoping 2 achieve!
