Ow! i have a canker sore in my mouth! does anyone know a way so soothe it or make it go away faster?

My daughter just got over canker sores from Strep throat. Her doctor recommended using a mixture of 1 part Maalox and 1 equal part Benadryl. The Maalox coats your entire mouth and the Benadryl takes away the pain and swelling. If you are unsure about making the mixture yourself you can also have a Doctor write a prescription for it.
